Dental implants

The implant is placed into the jaw to replace the tooth root and acts as an anchor for single crowns, bridges, or dentures. Dental implants have the appearance and functionality ‘more’ similar to natural teeth, and can prevent the loss of bone and protect the adjacent teeth along with certain other benefits.

A procedure planned for you

Planning – Our team will plan your dental treatment to ensure the best results

Positioning – our specialists will position the implant and shape the gum tissue around the implant.
Healing – the bone grows around the implant and integrates with the surface of implant in a few weeks.
Temporary restoration – if the implant is in a visible area, a temporary denture will be provided until the implant site and gingiva heal.
The positioning of abutment – when healing is complete, the dentist will place the abutment, a small piece that connects the implant and the crown. A definitive impression of the gums and the implants will serve as a model for the production of the final restoration.
Final restoration – the temporary restoration is removed and the permanent prosthesis is firmly fixed on the implants.

Implants are pimarily used for:

  • single tooth replacement, with healthy adjacent teeth that would have to be grinded to support the classical fixed partial denture (bridge)
  • multiple-tooth replacement, that can’t be supported by a classical bridge because of the big interdental span
  • completely edentulous jaw, when the few implants support complete fixed bridge (12 crows supported by 6 to 8 implants)
  • completely edentulous jaw, when the few implants support removable denture (2 to 4 implants)

The adventages of implants

  • dental implants can be used to replace a single tooth, a few teeth or all teeth of one or both arches of the mouth
  • the teeth supported by implants are the closest substitution to the natural teeth as possible
  • dental implants allow you to eat all the kinds of food just like natural teeth
  • dental implants and new teeth can be inserted without affecting other healthy teeth. This is not the case with traditional bridges, which require you to file the healthy adjacent teeth to support the bridge
  • unlike bridges or dentures, dental implants integrate with the bone of the jaws. This doesn’t provide only excellent stability, but also prevents bone loss and atrophy
  • dental implants offer a long-term solution to your dental problems, often lasting a lifetime. The traditional bridges usually need to be replaced, often within five years.

Carefully prepared treatments

With our deep expertise and knowledge of the most modern implant dentistry techniques, we are able to advise you on the treatments that best suit your needs. Where necessary, pre-prosthetic procedures are performed to prepare the maxillary sinus for implant insertion.

Age was not a barrier for implant placement, but it is important that the patient is healthy and the bone volume is sufficient for implant placement. A dental implant replaces the lost tooth without having to grind the adjacent teeth. Specialists who improve their skills continuously guarantee flawless implant placement.

It is also important to, in agreement with your doctor, get familiar with the types and materials used  in the making of the implants, and choose implant trusted manufacturers in order to fully be sure of the quality and the certification of all implant components. Scientific studies have confirmed the success of certified implants in over 95% cases. To achieve perfect aesthetics, we need specific solutions and a broad range of components, provided only by tested implant systems. Implants of highest level of quality have a specially treated titanium surface that allows faster bone healing and significantly shorter delays in making of the prosthodontic restorations. They are also much harder and more resistant to cracking because they are made of special alloys, titanium and zirconium, and in some cases can be loaded immediately. Moreover, immediate loading  returns patient’s nice smile instantly.

Pick trusted and high quality implant manufacturers

Bone volume required for implant placement

The ratio of “white esthetics” and “red esthetics” depends on the volume of soft tissue, which depends on the dimensions of the bone supporting structures. A good implanto-prosthetic planning must include examination of the bone dimensions around the teeth provided for extraction. The most demanding procedure is implant placement at the site of the upper front teeth because it is the most visible area, both from the esthetic point of view and other risk factors that compromise the predictability of the course of therapy

Computer-guided implantology

In cases of larger number of teeth or in complicated situations, it is recommended to make a third dimension using CBCT X-rays. A computer-guided implantology is actually a process of implant placement using a template, ie. the number, position and length of the implants are planned in advance in the 3D program, based on 3D X-rays. This methodology of computer-guided implantology is becoming more popular lately because it shortens surgery time and patient’s recovery. Regular maintenance and professional cleaning of the area around the implant significantly extends the life of the implant and is safe to say that the above mentioned treatment is a lifetime commitment. To patients with implants we recommend regular visits every 6 months in order to clean the plaque and bacteria around the implant.

Regular professional cleaning of the area around the implant significantly increases durability of the  same implant.
