HYALURONIC ACID AND FILLERS
Hyaluronic acid is a one of the fundamental parts of the human skin. Its absence leads to the impairment of the skin and the formation of the wrinkles. Its concentration decreases as we age.
A naturally occurring protein produced by the bacteria which blocks the signal from the nerve to the muscle, therefore the muscle is unable to contract.
Wrinkles are the result of normal facial movement showing expression. Muscle contraction and relaxation is especially visible on the both sides of the nose, between the eyebrows and around the eyes.
AESTHETIC TREATMENT WITH HYALURONIC ACID
Hyaluronic acid is used to reduce lines and wrinkles (crow’s feet, smoker wrinkles on the lips, the laughter lines and wrinkles on the forehead), to get bigger lips, shaping facial contours, increasing the cheekbones and chin, as well as to rejuvenate the skin on the hands, décolletage, face and neck.
Restylane® is one of the most popular products worldwide used in aesthetic medicine. It is a gel composed of hyaluronic acid which is a non-toxic product with minimal risk of allergic reaction and hypersensitivity.
The treatment with fillers is tailored to individual needs with immediate results. Manufactured in the form of transparent gel, it is injected into the skin in small doses in order to increase the volume of the facial structures (e.g. cheekbones) and to improve the skin’s appearance and structure. Its application doesn’t have an impact on facial expressions.
To date, more than 10 million Restylane treatments have been carried out, thus demonstrating the effectiveness and safety of Restylane products. These results are also long lasting. Iit is gradually re-absorbed by the skin after a period of 9 to 12 months, but sometimes after few treatments the results can last up to 18 months. The effect is not permanent and gives patients the opportunity to decide whether to repeat the injections in order to maintain younger looking skin.
THE USE OF PROTEINS IN AESTHETIC MEDICINE
In recent years, it is used in medicine to treat various diseases, such as migraine headaches, asthma, obesity and other possible symptoms, such as excessive sweating.
Its use has been widely experienced by many years in the field of aesthetic medicine for the treatment of frown lines around the eyes and forehead.
A small dose is diluted and injected into the areas to be treated, temporarily blocks the action the muscles and stretches the skin for a smoother appearance. The overall effect is that the face looks more relaxed and younger. The best results are obtained in the upper part of the face, reducing or completely removing wrinkles around the eyes, between the eyebrows and forehead. The injections are starting to bear significant results quickly, the first effects are visible after 24-48 hours of treatment, and are most effective after two weeks.
Results last for 3-4 months, and then gradually disappear. Therefore, it is advisable to repeat the treatment periodically, not only to maintain the results achieved but also to play an important preventive action on the formation of expression lines.
Indeed, the effect becomes more durable after several treatments, due to the loss of a sense of muscular contraction.
